In May 1899, Frank L. Camm joined the Roy Mfg. Co., and the company was renamed the Camm-Roy Watch Case Company.
The original Roy Watch Case Company immediately filed a legal dispute over the name, claiming it would cause confusion in the market and disrupt the reputation for the company.
It was determined that the use of the name "Camm-Roy Watch Case Company" infringed on the name used by the Roy Watch Case Company. As a result, the company was reorganized under the Camm Watch Case Company in July 1899.
