The earliest mentions are found in Philadelphia classified advertisements starting in 1853, listed as Mindil & Boning. By December 1853, these listings change to Mindil & Brother, suggesting a partnership between two of the Mindil brothers.

In advertisements that began appearing in local newspapers in 1866, the company is still listed as Mindil & Brother, located at No. 25 N. Third Street. No case manufacturing is indicated in any of these advertisements while importing and wholesale services are promoted.

George W. Mindil was admitted as a partner in January 1868. [The Philadelphia Inquirer, 31 Jan 1868, Page 6] At this time, the company name was changed to Mindil, Brother & Co.

On February 1, 1873, the firm was officially dissolved by Theodore Mindil, Gustav Mindil, and George W. Mindil.
