| Case Details | The case was advertised as a "salesman display case." A member on NAWCC told me: " In reference to it being a salesman case, these do resemble them but it is actually a converted regular case that has had a crystal added to its back bezel. It is a nice way to see the movement when the original case has worn out or is separated from the movement. This one would have been in a factory case. The Grade 478 was only available as a factory-cased watch." Note that the cross piece under the crown that had the Elgin brand name on it has been removed. |
