Case Details | 1-14-19, As Seen On E-Bay. See seller notes Below. Love the dog stamping. Case is made my Fahys, Stamped, No1 pocket101 Hampden "Lafayette" Hampden Watch Co. 18 size 15 jewel keywind and keyset "Lafayette" pocket watch. Good looking nickel damaskeened movement with what looks to be a Tucker's Patent regulator. Watch is fronted by a sunk-seconds enamel dial, and is housed in a 3 ounce coin silver case with offset gold hinges and with a good looking engraving of a dog on its rear. Movement serial number is 206740 which dates this watch to approximately 1881. Running but balance motion is sluggish and I think likely watch hasn't seen a servicing in many years. Nice looking movement overall with some typical mild marks. Regulator index and adjustment screw have some surface rust. Dial faces up well with just a few faint hairlines and an absolutely tiny flake at its center hole. Case is attractive with a moderate acquired patina and with excellent detail to its rear engraving. Case has a dent on its bezel near the 4 O'clock area, a few dings on its band, and some mild dents to the left side of its rear. Thick glass crystal has many scratches and scrapes. |
