Serial Number 9832107 was reported as inaccurate.

Note: I have a Elgin pocket watch Railroad style serial
number 9832107 15 Jewel. The serial number shows
that it is not a Railroad watch but the winding
stem is at the 3 O clock

Curator Response: Thanks for the report. Serial #9832107 corresponds to a 6-Size, Unadjusted, Hunting Movement with 15 Jewels. This would never have qualified for railroad service. Please verify that you are using the serial number stamped on the movement and that the movement was truly manufactured by Elgin.
