I have this Waltham 18 size, Serial Number:
4244560 I'm working on that has something very
unusual with the number of jewels.
I have it running but I think you guys at the
Pocket Watch Database might be interested in
seeing some photos of this watch and possibly be
able to help me with the jewel count on this
watch. It says in your database that it's an 18s,
15 jewel movement and I know there was a lot of
13j and 15j movements in these models but this
one
ìs very unusual because it's 14 jewels which
makes me think a very good Watchmaker has
machined
out a standard brass jewel setting on a 13 jewel
movement because it was damaged to far and
replaced it with a cased plate jewel. If someone
did do that then they did a very good job when
they did it. See what you think, I have added some
photos. Could you please let me know what you guys
think.
