Plate changed from Bridge to 3/4

Anonymous · May 9, 2019

Serial Number 935355 was reported as inaccurate.

Note: While this movement has the damaskeening of a
3/4 plate series 2. it is marked No.9 and Adj. 3
Pos. Is there any reason for this ?
Curator Response: Thanks for the report. The information on this serial number was previously recorded in the research notes for the run. There have been various markings found on the Keysone Howard movements that do not match the expected grade classification. This particular movement was produced prior to the introduction of the "official" Series 9. It is possible the company was begining to experiement with offering a 3-Position 3/4 plate movement at the time and finished a Series 2 with 3 Positional Adjustements instead of 5 and marked it accordingly.
