September 28, 1900

The Bell Watch Co. purchases 500 acres of land in Appleton, Wisconsin to be partially used for a new watch factory.

October 1901

The Remington Watch Co. is incorporated with a capital stock of $300,000, headed by Orpheus E. Bell.

October 1901

The Bell Watch Co. transfers the land designated for the factory to the Remminton Watch Co.

1902

Construction of the Remington Watch Co. factory is completed and machinery purchased from the defunct Cheshire Watch Co. is moved into the building.

February 1902

The Remington Watch Co. offers its first watches, modified movements from the Cheshire Watch Co. that are refinished using the "Appleton Watch Co." name.

June 1902

A Brooklyn-based watch case company is purchased and merged with the Remmington Watch Co.

September 25, 1903

The Remington Watch Co. ceases operations after falling behind on payroll and operating expenses. The company produced less than 3,000 watches in its short existance.

1906

The Remington Watch Company machinery is moved to Lima, Ohio and a new company is formed under the management of O.E. Bell as the Lima Watch Company.

October 1908

The Lima Watch Company fails without actually manufacturing any movements.
