"New Era" was a grade produced by the Lancaster Watch Company c.1881-1884. However, the "New Era" name was also used on movements manufactured by the New York Standard Watch Company c.1897-1902. The "New Era" movements manufactured by Lancaster/Keystone feature a gilt finish while the movements produced by the New York Standard Watch Company typically feature a nickel finish (a small portion are gilt finish) and are marked "New Era U.S.A."
