Dial Signing Name | John F. Hinds (private label) |
Dial Details | John Franklin Hinds had a store in the Spaulding block of Webster, MA and was listed as a jeweler and watchmaker c. 1840-1880. He would go on to serve as the selectman of Webster and would later serve on the Massachusetts House of Representatives in 1891 and 1892. Interestingly enough, politician James Alfred Lakin of Westfield, MA was also a jeweler who served on the Massachusetts House of Representatives during the same exact two years that Hinds served, and similar to Hinds, Lakin had private label watches made as well (one currently resides in my collection). Hinds died in 1894, which is when his business closed down. |
