Dial Details | William Henry Worcester (DOB 3/21/1836) was born in Hanover, New Hampshire and would go on to start a jewelry business by the name of W. H. Worcester & Co located on 31 Merrimack Street in Lowell, Massachusetts. One piece of information that made research of this gentleman more confusing was the fact that there was another William Henry Worcester living in Lowell, Massachusetts. This man was a Civil War veteran who was born 6 years earlier in Vermont and had the occupation of a farmer, not a jeweler. The William Henry Worcester who worked as a jeweler was listed as such on the 1855 town census and later married a woman by the name of Lizzie C. Flagg on September 4, 1871. A few years later in 1877, Worcester became a member of the freemasons. William Henry Worcester passed away in Lowell, Massachusetts on January 11, 1909. |
