Dial Signing Name | England & Leavitt (private label) |
Dial Details | England & Leavitt were business partners who worked as jewelers and watchmakers out of Worcester, Massachusetts. Their full names are Oscar R. England and James Sullivan Tobey Leavitt. Very little is known about England - he was born in 1867 in Agawam, MA and was a member of the freemasons. He later married a woman by the name of Margaret Boy Rood from Woodstock, New Brunswick Canada in 1902. England passed away on February 21, 1957 in Leominster, MA. Leavitt on the other hand seems to have much more documentation about his life. Leavitt was born of August 4, 1857 in Athens, Maine. He was married twice, most likely due to a passing of his first wife. His first marriage was recorded in Worcester, MA and his second marriage was recorded in Los Angeles, CA. It's unknown why Leavitt decided to pack up shop and move out west. Before arriving in California, he also lived in Washington for a time. Leavitt passed away on February 25, 1938 at the age of 80. |
