| Dial Details | Joseph Fredrick Bartlett was born on October 8, 1842 in Berlin, Massachusetts. It is unknown where or when Bartlett learned his trade as a jeweler. What is known of Bartlett is that he married Julia Maria Ladd of Millbury, Massachusetts on June 28, 1868 and he would also become a member of the freemasons that same year. Bartlett would have three sons in his lifetime, who likely helped him in the family business. In the 1904 Jewelers' Circular newspaper it was reported that Edward Bartlett (the eldest son) was acting as a buyer in Boston for Joseph Bartlett's store. Joseph Bartlett died on November 9, 1918 in Clinton, Massachusetts at the age of 76. He is buried at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Clinton, Massachusetts. |
