Dial Details | Myron Francis Taintor was born on August 5, 1859, in Lee, Massachusetts. He would go on to open up a jewely store in the town of Easthampton, MA and was involved in at least one patent in the early 20th century. Taintor was also an important local figure in the Easthampton town history due to the fact that many postcards and early photographs of Easthampton, MA were taken by him. In 1891 he married Lucy M. Bliss of Northampton, Massachusetts and they had one child during their marriage. One event recorded in Taintor's career was in October 1916, when a Police Officer by the name of James Campbell engaged in a running gunfight with four burglars who had just stolen from M. F. Taintor’s jewelry store. Although the shots of the officer failed to stop the thieves, his encounter with them led to the recovery of about $1,200 worth of jewelry which had been removed from the store in a bag. Myron Taintor lived to the age of 79, and passed away on August 11, 1938. |
