Dial Details | Frederick Hazen Wheeler was born on November 10, 1844 in Leominster, New Hampshire and later moved to Rutland, Vermont at the age of 18. He began work under a jeweler by the name of Ben K. Chase, where he learned the jewelry trade. In 1877, Wheeler went into business for himself and was advertised at being near the old beehive stand located at 25 Merchants' Row. He would later become the owner of the Wheeler jewelry store in town. Wheeler suffered from health problems and was only 47 years old at the time of his death. He passed away on August 29, 1892 and is currently buried in Evergreen Cemetery in Rutland, Vermont. |
