| Case Details | The watch was owned by Arthur K. McLennan 1882-1911 during his time with the Railway. Given to him by his father Charles J. McLennan 1850-1926. The watch was damaged a long time ago. It remained in damaged condition for 2 generations. We could never figure out why it was left in this condition, until Arthur's lost family was rediscovered and details in newspaper clippings emerged from 1911 confirming that Arthur was involved in a serious railway accident and died shortly thereafter from his injuries. The watch was passed to his brother Charles C. McLennan 1885-1972, Fire Chief with the Vancouver Fire Hall #2. He had it serviced twice in the 1930's as it was still ticking. Exterior still damaged. When he passed the watch to my grandfather Capt. Donald R. McLennan 1926-2004, he told him it was more special damaged, and by the time it was passed to me, he couldn't remember why. The watch was impacted, glass broken, caved in on back, but not enough to damage interior. Seconds hand missing, but it was fully functional and ticking away. I put it through 2 costly restoration rounds in 2017. Restoration completed 2018. I didn't realize at the time of restoration the watch was a memorial piece. This pocket watch is now a restored memorial heirloom treasure that I plan to reunite with Arthur's found family, as it was a treasure to find them all.
