Case Details The Wadsworth case has a snap on bezel, a hinged inner dust cover, and outer hinged cover. The dust cover has "Elgin" and "G.M. Wheeler Model" engraved /stamped on it's outer circumference. The dust cover has "Elgin" and "G.M. Wheeler Model" engraved /stamped on it's outer circumference. Wadsworth also guarantees the watch for 25 years.
The case serial number, appears in full on the inside of the rear cover as 6426275.
Another partial is etched by hand in Roman numerals on the inside of the bezel, **26275,
and finally, ***627*3P has been stamped in Arabic numerals on the back of the ring case,
between 8 and 9 o’clock. This is the first time I've come across a case ring marked liked this.
That being said Perhaps The movement shows the watch having "SIX ADJUSTMENTS"
CU,CD,FU, isochronism, temp, and (FD)? Elgin had a real penchant for tossing in isochronism
and temp. as adjustments, along with positions in their later years (1920s onward) when
up 9 Adjustments started appearing on movements when adjustments and casings at the factory casing
became the norm.
