Case Serial # | 600819 |
Case Details | Excellent condition. Heavily embossed floral - style decoration, plus birds and a ranch house (!). This extends over rear cover, case and bezel, unique in my collection. A Fahys ‘No 1 Monarch’ style, patented April 22 1879. No warranty indication. |
Dial Material | Enamel |
Dial Type | Double-Sunk |
Dial Style | Roman |
Dial Signing Name | Fattorini & Sons Bradford Non-Magnetic |
Dial Details | Very fine double sunk dial, no damage/ hairlines. The Fattorini signature shows this watch was imported to the UK complete with Fahys case, which was unusual. Heavily decorated cases like this were not often seen on the British market. The ‘watch and chronograph manufacturers’ claim was not really true - the Fattorini family had three UK businesses and were major retailers with strong connections to various manufacturers. This is an American watch and case sold in England by a family of Italian immigrants! |
Movement Markings | Elaborate ‘AWW Co’ script, plus !Royal’ name. Planished nickel crown ans winding wheels, detailed balance cock decoration and micro adjuster. Quite an advanced movement for 1892. |
