Movement Markings | Hamilton 505 Patented ADJ. U.S.A. Pictured in Rene Rondeau's book "The Watch Of The Future" on pages 164 to 169, it was released in January 1957 with an original price of $200.00. It is triple quadruple signed on the dial, case, crown, and movement. It runs great and keeps time to well under 30 seconds variation per day, and has a brand new battery just installed. The hack function works properly, and the watch starts right up each time the crown is pushed in from the setting position to the running position. The Ventura was the first of the Hamilton Electrics released, along with the conservative Van Horn. The shape reflects the "boomerang" motif which was common in that era, and was designed by Richard Arbib. Even the crown symbolized the new "Electric" watch, obviously being much too small to wind. |
