Movement Markings | HAMILTON 500A PAT. PENDING U.S.A. ADJ. Rene Rondeau Watch of the Future, p. 151. The Polaris was available in either yellow or white 14K gold with a brushed silver dial and gold markers. The crystal is an inverted tear drop, conforming to an indentation in the bow. The Polaris can be found with two different styles of original hands. The straight baton hands are most common, however dauphine hands were also used. A diamond dial version was also available, named the "Lord Lancaster E". The earliest yellow gold examples were fitted with 500A movements. Later yellow models and all white gold Polaris had the Model 5050. A tiny amount was produced in 18K rose gold for export to South American. |
