Case Details | The inside of the back cover has a griffon hallmark resting on STERLING underneath, and the number 3566. STERLING is outlined in fancy engraving with the S and the G in larger letters. I don't know if this stands for sterling silver, but I am unable to find a case mfg by the name of STERLING. The dust cover is marked with a W above 3566, and below that it is marked 3 oz. The case may not original to the movement as it has a crown on the pendant (but not connected) for winding/setting. It does have the key-wind hole through the dust cover however. On the other hand, USWC was in the throes of reorganizing after the "Panic of 1873" and they cobbled together differing remaining movements, cases, spare parts, etc., in an effort to boost sales and keep the company afloat. It could be that a KW-KS movement was cased in a pendant case. |
