Dial Details | This 935 has a later dial in it from years ago. The owner was my grandfather and he was a Eye Doctor. He liked the "Blind Mans Dial" so he had it changed. This Hamilton 935 was made in 1898 and had belonged to Mr Henry Gasaway Davis the founder of the Coal & Coke railroad line , Pittsburgh Pa to Charleston W.Va.. He gave it to my grandfather C.C. Wilson on Christmas Day as a gift in 1915 as they were friends. Mr. Davis died the next year in 1916 and the line was taken over by B&O railroad. Mr. Davis was a U.S. Congressman and ran to be Vice President of the United States. I remember Grandpa wearing this watch each day. Now in 2015 I will wear it with pride at work each day. |
