| Case Details | 1-25-15, I saw this on E-Bay and decided to document it. Sold on e-bay for $508.32 Delivered. ..... The hand engraved case on this large antique Rockford Watch Company Pocket Watch measures 2 3/16” in diameter and has beautiful hand engraved covers. On the front is a classic Steam Locomotive and on the back is an engraved landscape with railroad tracks winding upwards. If you look closely you can see a train on the way up and another on the way down. Not only are these two scenes hand engraved but the detailed borders are also finely hand engraved. The gold is so good I thought it might be solid, but after researching the Stamping of the crown of scales mark on line. I found that this case was made by Keystone and is a 25 year 14K Gold Filled Case. The condition is perfect with no wear or any restorations. Inside is a Rockford Watch Company Illinois works with the serial number 126989. The face hand and crystal are perfect. This is a lever set watch is perfect working order. ... You will be hard pressed to find a better example of this hand engraved Rockford Railroad Pocket Watch. |
