Case Details | 1-21-15, I saw this watch for sale on E-Bay and decided to document it. This watch is a very rair E.A. Muckel rotating case. Below are the sellers add description. The asking price at this time was $795.00. Offering a rare and exceptional example of a Rockford/ Muckle Reversible 18s Pocket Watch Case with an equally exceptional and period correct Illinois transitional movement Grade 3-s, Model 2 11j movement circa 1882 with beautiful gold gilt movement with a personalized L&F monogram. The original rear cover for the Muckle case was absent and my watchmaker custom lathed a brass rear display cover to show off this top notch movement in this rare case. The only thing missing is the tiny screw that secures the winding stem and crown. Just a spectacular combination Muckle Case & movement. The front and rear cover snap in place firmly and work perfectly as they should with no slop. Neither cover extends past 90 degrees and has not been abused. The case is not monogrammed. Turn the case movement to display the movement or rotate is 180 degrees to display the time. A true collectable with considerable aesthetic appeal. |
