Case Details | The case photo shows the condition I received the watch in. The movement was is excellent condition. However the dial and the case left much to be desired. Both the dial and case were changed out to near mint pieces. This is a great example of what can be found and restored condition can look like. For those considering this hobby. To me this is the carrot. The detail of the original case I have document. The restored version in the dial photo is Wadsworth. Near mint condition. The coin edging is excellent with a new crystal. While the crystal was out it allowed me to polish the bezel area that holds the crystal to a nice polished finish. Nice watch, love it. |

Dial Details | I have sacrificed the dial on this movement to help clarify the engravings for this watch. However I am listing the details of the dial. I have see this same double sunk dial many times on the model 1892. There are other rail road styles also. This dial is currently is poor condition. It will be difficult to find a mint condition dial with out taking it off of a another movement. Often a lower jewel , perfectly working movement. And it will cost $. |
Movement Markings | The movement photo I have listed documents the 23j, Adjusted and Vanguard, Waltham Mass, 5 Position, And Sn engravings. At this time the data base is unclear as to the status of adjusted, and how many postions. So I have documented this watch as stamped 5 position. I have listed the Movement letters Inlay as gold gilding. However he Sn is black ink. The 23j, Adjusted, Vanguard, Waltham, Mass. engravings are in gold ink. The 5 Position and Sn in Black ink. I have looked at other movements. and there are variations of the engraving colors. Some are gold ink for everything. |
