Case Details | 5-8-16, Seen on E-bay. The case is truly a fine example of early American craftsman ship. The asking price is $1500.00. At this time I could find no books to verify this is a solid gold case. My feeling is that is most likely is. The back dust cover has the following Stamping. N.Y.W.Co. Brand: NY standard Age: Antique (pre 1920) Closure: Full Hunter Case Material: Triple color 14k Yellow Gold Movement: Mechanical: Hand-winding Country Made: USA Serial Number: See listing New York Standard 6 size in heavy 14k triple color gold boxed hinge case. This is a 14k triple color heavy gold cased New York Standard with beautiful decorations on the one side of the case it has a bird in flight with various color gold flowers well embossed, the other side it has a cartouche with the monogram MN in pink gold also with floral decorations and what appears to be a cross, the case is a real beauty, the inside of cover is stamped with the initials Name New York Watch Co Warranted U.S. Assay 14k serial number 16195. The dial is in a very good condition without any chips, cracks or hairlines it is marked in Roman Numerals and a subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock marked in tens 10 - 60, in he center of the top half the name New York Standard Watch Co. is proudly displayed, the hand are morning glory open hands in blued steel. The movement is a 7 jewel nickel plate with nice damascening also marked in a scroll type engraving New York Standard Watch company U.S.A. Safety pinion serial number 518150 it is three quarter plate with a club lever escape wheel, a Breguet over coil hairspring, please have a look at the picture as they form part of our description and might help you with your decision. |
