| Case Details | 14K Dueber "Special" Gold Watch Case: I would bet money that this is the original 14K Dueber Gold Watch Case, that was sold with the watch 124 years ago. My rational... due to its serial number and the progress of the 16s development to production, this movement was likely produced in 1891. The movement's watch case has an inscription on the cuvette cover over the movement , also dated 1891; "J. C. Smith from Leroy Smith. Dec 15 1891" (See photo #5.) J. C. Smith clearly used his watch. The outside covers of the case have some brassing, some dents and some light scratches. However, inside, the gold still glistens and shines. There are some light scratches and jeweler marks on the inside, but not significantly detracting from the fine look inside the watch case *edit Case above has been replaced |
