Case Details Case is base metal 1930's open case replacement for original hunter case. Date based on short winding stem and design on back of case. I assume the original 19th century hunting case was scraped for its gold or silver value and replaced with alloy metal open face case during the Great Depression (1929-1939). This made the pocket watch a "sidewinder".
