Note: Watch was inscribed with a date of Dec 12, 1874.
Database suggests mfg. date of the movement should
be 14 years later than this example. All other
info matched. Possibly watch movement was replaced
at some point. Watch is in excellent condition
and still functions.

Curator Response: Thanks for the report. Yes, the case sounds like it predates the movement by quite a bit. The Hampden Watch Company did not exist in 1874.
