should also have mentioned that this specimen was
part of a private label run. The dial is signed
"E.L. Park" below which is "Essex, Ont.", which
signature is also found on the movement (to the
exclusion of any reference to Waltham ).
Incidentally, E.L. Park was a jeweller in the
Canadian town of Essex, within the province of
Ontario. A local newspaper reported that in April
1893 his shop was burglarized, the suspects
believed to have been from Detroit, Michigan.
