Montauk 14K/15YR
In 1897, the Fahys Watch Case Company began restructuring its product line to adapt to market changes. The "Monarch" 14K/20YR grade was discontinued during this transition. The company also upgraded the 10K "Montauk" to 14K for a short period, maintaining the 15-Year guarantee. Around this time, various case companies in the United States were increasing year guarantees across their product lines, forcing Fahys to follow suit. In February 1898, the company announced the "Montauk" grade would be guaranteed for 20 years. This announcement also coincided with the company's change back to 10K instead of 14K. As a result, the 14K Montauk cases were only on the market for about a year, being replaced by the 10K/20YR Montauk in early 1898.
