Research Notes
Keystone Magazine, February 1905: Elgin announces the reduction and rebate for the following grades: 295, 296, 297, 286, 287, 288, 307, 308
Elgin Grade 307 was a slight modification on the existing Grade 249, and the two movements are nearly identical. According to material catalogs, the only parts different between the two grades are the balance (complete), balance cock screw, hairspring stud screw, and the click spring. In the 1907 A.C. Becken catalog, the Grade 249 movement is illustrated while the Grades 307/308 are described.
