Research Notes

According to observations, the Grade 475 was manufactured exclusively for the export market. As a result, movements were originally fitted in Keystone cases and exported by the Keystone Watch Case Company to their sales office in either London or Hamburg. At the time of production, Keystone operated as the sole export agent for the Elgin National Watch Company.

To comply with trade regulations, dials have been found to be marked "Made In U.S.A." above the seconds bit. Cases are additionally marked "U.S.A." under the standard marking employed by Keystone at the time.

The 475 was manufactured in a single run of 300 movements.

In terms of manufacturing and finish, the Grade 475 is very similar to the 466. However, the 466 is lever-set and adjusted to four positions while the 475 is pendant-set and adjusted to three positions.
