Reasons Why You Should Carry A Hamilton Watch
A M I LT O N WATCHES H are made by the best skilled workmen in the most perfectly equipped plant in the world, and of the very finest
materials.
HAMILTON WATCHES have the most phenomenally accurate timekeeping records, are more extensively used and in far greater numbers on all main railroad lines in the United States of America than any other watch, and will meet all the exacting Ooffficial requirements of railroad ser‐ vice, under the extraordinary, try‐ ing conditions to which railroad ser‐ vice subjects a watch.
The HAMILTON WATCH has proved to be the most perfect railroad watch made, and will be entirely satisfac‐- , tory to everyone desiring accurate time, as every HAMILTON WATCH is guaranteed in every part and par‐ ticular. We do not permit any watch to leave our factory until it is proved by the most scientific and the most exhaustive tests to be an ac‐ curate timekeeper.

E A T S 18,000 times in one hour; 432,000 B in a day; 157,680,000 in a year. The balance will travel 3,732 miles in one year and should not have to travel much
further without being cleaned.
A watch that has been allowed to run down will not r u n the same when wound and startedagain, butwillusuallybefoundto run irregularly for a few days.
Fine timekeepers are very sensitive, and slight changes in their treatment affect their performance, as is shown by the well-known fact that a close-running watch will not maintain the same rate in the pockets of two persons, although their habits and vocation may beidentical.
At night it is best to hang up the watch, so that it is kept in the same pos1ition as iIt is carried during the day.
A watch when first started, or that has been allowed to rundown, should be run a few days and given time to settle down to a steady rate, after which the regulator m a y be moved to bring it to close time.
As a general rule, a watch that is expected to keep close time should be regulated while being carried by the person who is to wear it.
It is' essential that a watch should be wound at the same hour every day, and also that observations of its variations of rate should be made at a stated hour.
The regulator should not be moved, as is often done, until it is ascertained to be a fact that the watch is not running properly, under the proper conditions and treatment.
