Introduced February 1889 (New 18s 7 Jewel Movement), Patent Friction Center Staff, Also available as a cased watch in nickel with snap bezel and back (No. 531), Available as Factory Cased in BHA96 catalog. Some Produced Without Serial Numbers. The 1898 S.F. Myers catalog lists both the Grade 31 movement ($5.63) and the "New Era" variation for $4.00 (cut shows movement marked "The New Era" without serial number).
