Research Notes
Rockford Serial Lists indicate that a single Grade 815 movement was produced as a 18-Size Hunting Model 8 grade featuring 17 Jewels. Serial # 513,182 is embedded within a larger run of Grade 820 movements [513,102-513,251]. Similarly, the "sister" Grade 915 was produced in very limited runs of one to four movements, typically embedded within larger runs of Grade 920 movements.
The "sister" Grade 915 has been observed as featuring nickel damaskeened plates and marked "Rockford Watch Co. - 17 Jewels - 915 - Adjusted 5 Positions" [#534172]. While Rockford Serial Lists designate this movement as Model 7, it actually has traits consistent with the newer Model 9 classification.
#534297 has been verified as marked "815" ("Rudd & Neilson, Jewelers - Perth, Ont. - 17 Jewels - Adjusted - 815"). The run 534201-534400 is skipped in the c.1907 serial list published by Rockford.
