Research Notes

According to Rockford Serial Lists, the Grade 82A was produced in two runs, totaling 140 movements. The first run is designated as featuring 15 Jewels. However, a 17-Jewel movement (#433129) has been reported in the run, yielding the conclusion that the serial list is likely inaccurate. The second run is listed as having 17 Jewels, and observations have indicated movements featuring a two-tone pattern. Both movements recorded from this run have been private labels. Both runs are in close proximity to standard Grade 82 runs, and it is unclear how the 82 differs from the 82A. Most, if not all, of the Private Label Grade 82 movements feature a two-tone pattern similar to the recorded 82A examples.
