Location: New York

Years of Operation: 1854-1857

Successor: Juergens & Andersen

Some sources record the name as "Anderson." However, original advertisements confirm the spelling as "Andersen."

While Crossman reported that Andersen partnered with Juergens in 1860, an article published in the March 7, 1894 issue of The Jewelers' Circular following Mr. Andersen's death indicates the two partnered in 1857.

Another article published in The Keystone around the same time reporetd that Andersen came to America from Germany in 1854. For three years, he practiced his trade in New York before moving west to Chicago. These dates conflict with Crossman's account, which states that Andersen was active from 1857-1860 before partnering with Juergens.

All other accounts indicate the partership between Andersen and Juergens commenced in 1857.

The company headquarters was destroyed in the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. This incident corelates with the reported termination of case making.
