Seth Thomas Size 6s Model 16: Overview & Production
The Model 16 replaced the standard Model 15 around 1900 and maintained a similar appearance to the previous model with a solid 3/4 top plate. Material Catalogs provide the following serial blocks for Model 16 production: 160,001-165,000, 166,001-200,000, and 400,001-420,000. Only a small number of changes to the model were implemented during this transition. According to material catalogs, the only modifications were to the barrel, click, balance jewels (larger size), and ratchet wheel. These movements were fitted with a safety pinion and marked accordingly. This model was subsequently replaced by the Model 17 around 1901.
