| Dial Details | The watch was purchased as "movement only"; no dial or hands. The Hamilton double sunk dial came from my spares. The hands are mismatched, but were all I could find among my collection of many 16s spares that actually fit after I got the watch. |
| Movement Markings | "Hamilton Watch Co., Lancaster, Pa. 17 Jewels", and "THOR" stamped on the train bridge. Serial no. is stamped on the barrel bridge, and "Adjusted" is stamped on balance cock. The regulator parts, case screws, plate screws, winding, and barrel screws, and jewel cup screws are all gold gilt. According to Hamilton V.P. Lowell Halligan's notes on the 974, 350 974 gilt trimmed movements with "THOR" stamped on the barrel bridge were produced for the jeweler L. Manheimer of New York in lots of 10, 50, or 100 movements. 300 were pendant set and 50 were lever set. |
