Later OF and HC were fitted mainly with Arabic dials.
Movement Markings "Safety Pinion", and serial no. stamped on train bridge. "17 Jewels", "C. Luther, Scranton, Pa." stamped on barrel bridge.
No. 98340 is an early 924 from the second run.
Private label movement. Finished at the Hamilton factory 9-1-1899 and sold 9-22-1899 to jeweler C. Luther, 107 Wyoming Ave., Scranton PA.
The 17j 924 and 925 were made to replace the 16j 930 and 931 which ceased production in 1899. Early 924's/925's retained the same damaskeen pattern as the 930s/931s until it was changed between ser. nos. 120340 and #120529 and remained the same to the end of 924 production.
