| Case Details | Engravings cover the outside of the case: flowers and swirling leaves with a fan or shell motif rising from the center. The upper side of the hunter case face has machine turn engraving with a repeating filigree leaf border. A shield type banner graces the front and back with a blank area on one side for monogramming and a lodge setting with mountains, trees, and a walking bridge to the lodge engraved on the opposite side. Ribbed engraving encircles the outside edge of the watch. The stem depresses to open the front of the case revealing the watch face. The inside of the front case opening has the case serial number of 52724. The back of the watch opens with the fingernail tab revealing bright shiny gold with the same watch case serial number on the inside. The blank inner lid is blank, a perfect location for a lock of hair or for your loved one's monogrammed initials. Opening the inner lid reveals the identification of the watch case maker as Bates & Bacon as it is stamped "Warranted B&B Regal 10 Years." The case serial number is below the jeweler's mark. Bates & Bacon was a watch case manufacturer that operated in Attleboro, MA, between 1883 and 1904. Rest assured, this watch case surpassed and exceeded the 10 year gold fill warranty. All the covers close securely. The stem is 7/16" tall and works beautifully. This ladies pocket watch is 1 3/8" in diameter and 1 13/16" from the bottom to the top of the stem. There are no dings or dents to the watch and minimal loss of gold fill. |
