Note: I have an E. Howard pocket watch which has been
handed down through my family starting as a
Christmas gift from my Great Grandfather to my
Grandfather.
The movement is stamped “S/N 990671 E. Howard
Watch Co. Boston” and “21 Jewels”.
Inside the first back lid is engraved “From
Father to J. N. Van Meter. December 25, 1908.”
Inside the second back lid is stamped
“Crescent” and “Extra” with the star and
crescent moon symbols, which I think is the
trademark for Crescent watch cases.
Also S/N 2403469 is stamped inside both lids.
The case appears to be gold plated but I can’t
be sure. There is no Gold Filled stamp with karat
number.
