Curator Response: This is a really interesting one. I am confident the "core" movement is a John Hancock based on features and damaskeening pattern. However, it looks like the barrel bridge has been replaced. I have not seen any standard movements with this particular marking on the barrel bridge, suggesting this was done at the factory. The damaskeening pattern on the barrel bridge also does not match the core John Hancock movement. Interestingly, the position of the "Safety Pinion" mark is not consistent with any known movements either. Excellent find.
