Serial Number 278785 was reported as inaccurate.

Note: I need to reiterate:

This serial number is an open face movement
configuration, not hunting.

It is a lever set, not a key set.

It appears to have a nickel movement finish, not
gilt.

Serial Number 278785 was reported as inaccurate.

Note: This will supplement my previous report on this
watch. It is an open face movement configuration;
Nomenclature is: "Patent Pinion" in uppercase
letters; "Hampden Watch Co." in small cap letters;
and "Springfield, Mass" in normal combination of
upper case and lower case letters, in script. It
is a full plate nickel movement, with four frosted
"squiggle" lines transversing the diameter
parallel with the nomenclature. It has 5 blue
screws, two larger silver-colored screws, and one
very small siver-colored screw. I see 5 large
sunk jewels and 6 smaller ones on the face of the
movement. *****@comcast.net
