Hamilton put the 1st Elinvar Hairspring and a
solid balance arm into an Illinois Bunn Special 60
Hr. movement to make sure this new
hairspring/balance arm would work as planned. If
it didn't they didn't want the name Hamilton on
the movement. The Elinvar Hairspring worked and by
1935 almost all Hamilton RR grade movements had an
Elinvar Hairspring. I have this watch in my
collection. DWC in Kansas
