Note: Most of your information coincides with my watch
except mine is both key and stem wind as well as
lever set. Also, the regulator lies back over the
balance cock rather than forward over the balance
wheel and top plate. I believe all the parts are
original to the watch. However, I should mention
that it does not actually identify itself as an
Illinois watch in so many words. It does say
"I.W.Co. Springfield, Illinois". I know there are
other watch companies that use those initials, but
as far as I know, none of those other companies
were in Springfield. Furthermore, most but not
all of the parts on my watch are identical to
other Illinois watches I have seen (right down to
the same etching designs so I am confident it is
an Illinois watch. Perhaps these differences are
not significant to differentiate my watch from
your database. But I mention these things on the
off chance that I have an oddball watch that has
not yet made it to your database.
