Note: My Swiss-trained watchmaker who specializes in
Seth Thomas watches says this pocket watch with
dual cases, my own watch, is a Train Man's Special
Movement watch from the 1850s. It is a model 12
and has 7 jewels. It is gold plated. The watch
winds from the side not the top.

Curator Response: Thanks for the report. Seth Thomas did not start making watches until 1885.
