Curator Response: You are making an incorrect assumption that movements were finished sequentially. However, this is not the case as manufacturers would often reserve large blocks of serial numbers in advance and fulfill production as required. The hand-written Waltham factory ledgers record range 7,024,001-7,025,000 as being finished between October 1896 and June 1901.

Curator Response: Thanks for the report. The most dependable records for production at Waltham are the serial ledgers which indicate this run was produced from October 1896 to June 1901.
