Dear Reader
A statement of fact; the watches in this book are by the trade name of E. Howard Watch Co., Waltham, Mass. However, the Howard name was purchased by the Keystone Watch Case Company about 1902. They also purchased the Howard factory in 1905.
The next ten pages are of special interest to collectors as they are from different years of the Howard Watch Company asowned by Keystone.
The Edward Howard chronometer and following thIee pages of illustrations of 12 and 16 sizes are one group. No date on this material, but the Edward Howard chronometer was introduced to the public in 1912 at $350.00, and we assume this section to be circa 1912-1918.
The next section consists of four pages and illustrations of 10, 12 and 16 size watches made by Keystone Watch Case Company. This material is circa 1921 as it illustrates the 10 size watch which was designed between 1918 and 1921 and sold by the company until it went out of business in 1930.
SPECIAL NOTE: See the Howard Watch Certificate of License which was included and affixed to each mahogany case in which the watch was delivered to the purchaser. The license was issued under the US. patent laws and became a condition of the purchase or sale of the watch. The certificate guaranteed and set the fair trade price on each watch.
